Reservoir Computing on the Hypersphere
نویسنده
چکیده
Reservoir Computing (RC) refers to a Recurrent Neural Networks (RNNs) framework, frequently used for sequence learning and time series prediction. The RC system consists of a random fixedweight RNN (the input-hidden reservoir layer) and a classifier (the hidden-output readout layer). Here we focus on the sequence learning problem, and we explore a different approach to RC. More specifically, we remove the non-linear neural activation function, and we consider an orthogonal reservoir acting on normalized states on the unit hypersphere. Surprisingly, our numerical results show that the system’s memory capacity exceeds the dimensionality of the reservoir, which is the upper bound for the typical RC approach based on Echo State Networks (ESNs). We also show how the proposed system can be applied to symmetric cryptography problems, and we include a numerical implementation.

Bubble Pressure Prediction of Reservoir Fluids using Artificial Neural Network and Support Vector Machine
Bubble point pressure is an important parameter in equilibrium calculations of reservoir fluids and having other applications in reservoir engineering. In this work, an artificial neural network (ANN) and a least square support vector machine (LS-SVM) have been used to predict the bubble point pressure of reservoir fluids. Also, the accuracy of the models have been compared to two-equation stat...
متن کاملDesign of a Multilayered Feed-Forward Neural Network Using Hypersphere Neurons
In this paper a special higher order neuron, the hypersphere neuron, is introduced. By embedding Euclidean space in a conformal space, hyperspheres can be expressed as vectors. The scalar product of points and spheres in conformal space, gives a measure for how far a point lies inside or outside a hypersphere. It will be shown that a hypersphere neuron may be implemented as a perceptron with tw...

متن کاملA Short Note on The Volume of Hypersphere
In this note, a new method for deriving the volume of hypersphere is proposed by using probability theory. The explicit expression of the multiple times convolution of the probability density functions we should use is very complicated. But in here, we don’t need its whole explicit expression. We just need the only a part of information and this fact make it possible to derive the general expre...
متن کاملMinimax Input Shaper Design Using Linear Programming
The focus of this paper is on the design of robust input shapers where the maximum value of the cost function over the domain of uncertainty is minimized. This nonlinear programming problem is reformulated as a linear programming problem by approximating a n-dimensional hypersphere with multiple hyperplanes (as in a geodesic dome). A recursive technique to approximate a hypersphere to any level...
